Illinois High School Softball - Benton defeated by Carbondale

The Benton Rangers softball squad (Benton, IL), was routed 13-4 in Monday's non-league contest with the visiting Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL)

With the triumph, Carbondale improves its record to 11-12 on the year. The Terriers travel to Marion (Marion, IL) to face the Wildcats in a South Seven contest on Tuesday, May 5. The Wildcats enter the contest with a record of 18-6. Marion lost 8-2 in their recent league contest against Centralia (Centralia, IL)

The Rangers now hold a 7-16 record. They play next when they host Meridian for a non-league contest on Tuesday, May 5. Benton will face a Bobcats squad coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to Pope County (Golconda, IL). The Bobcats record now stands at 5-8.
