The Maranacook Black Bears baseball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Waterville Panthers to 1 in the Black Bears non-league victory on Thursday.
The Black Bears (7-1) will now prepare for their match against Sacopee Valley (Cornish, ME). The Hawks go into the Class C South match with a 9-0 record. In their last match, Sacopee Valley edged Lake Region (Naples, ME), 9-3, in a non-league match.
The Panthers (3-4) will now prepare for their match against Winslow (Winslow, ME). The Black Raiders go into the Class B North match with a 1-6 record. In their last match, Winslow was overwhelmed by Oceanside (Rockland, ME), 4-3, in a league match.
