The Sacopee Valley Hawks (Cornish, ME) softball nipped the visiting Lake Region Lakers (Naples, ME), 3-2 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Hawks (7-2) will now prepare for their bout against Maranacook (Readfield, ME). The Black Bears go into the Class C South bout with a 4-0 record.

The Lakers now possess a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Freeport for a Class B South bout on Friday, May 6. Lake Region will confront a Falcons squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to York (York, ME). The Falcons record now stands at 3-2.
