Montague Wildcats (Montague, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Manistee Chippewas (Manistee, MI), 12-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Whitehall for a Western Michigan challenge on Tuesday, May 10.

With the loss, Manistee falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Chippewas host Western Michigan Christian (Muskegon, MI) to battle the Warriors in a Lakes 8 challenge on Tuesday, May 10. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
