The Maranacook Black Bears (Readfield, ME) softball routed the host Waterville Panthers (Waterville, ME), 11-4 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Black Bears (5-0) will now prepare for their bout against Sacopee Valley (Cornish, ME). The Hawks go into the Class C South bout with a 7-2 record. In their last bout, Sacopee Valley held off Lake Region (Naples, ME), 3-2, in a non-league bout.
The Panthers now possess a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Maine Central Institute for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 9. Waterville will battle a Huskies squad coming off a 16-6 non-league loss to John Bapst Memorial (Bangor, ME). The Huskies record now stands at 0-6.
