Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Mary's Ryken Knights (Leonardtown, MD), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Patriots now own a 14-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Severna Park for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 9. Northern will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Chesapeake (Pasadena, MD). The Falcons record now stands at 3-2.
With the loss, St. Mary's Ryken falls to 3-5 on the campaign.
