Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) followers exited the stadium in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their lacrosse squad overcome the visiting North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), 16-9 in a non-league battle.

The Cougars now have a 9-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northwood for a non-league contest on Tuesday, May 9. Croatan will confront a Chargers squad coming off a 15-2 non-league win over Seaforth (Pittsboro, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 15-3.

The Scorpions now own a 6-12 record.
