The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Washington Hatchets (Washington, IN) and the host Bloomfield Cardinals (Bloomfield, IN), saw Washington's softball squad nip Bloomfield by a count of 12-11.

The Hatchets now sport a 1-15 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sullivan for a non-league match on Monday, May 8. Washington will face a Golden Arrows squad coming off a 7-1 non-league win over Clay City (Clay City, IN). The Golden Arrows record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, Bloomfield falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Edgewood (Ellettsville, IN) to face the Mustangs in a non-league match on Saturday, May 6. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 13-6. Edgewood won 12-0 in their recent league match against Northview (Brazil, IN)
