Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Boothbay Seahawks (Boothbay Harbor, ME), 17-3 in a league challenge.

The Phoenix now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Oak Hill for a Class C South challenge on Saturday, May 6. Spruce Mountain will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 21-4 league win over Carrabec (North Anson, ME). The Raiders record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Boothbay falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Seahawks host Monmouth Academy (Monmouth, ME) to battle the Mustangs in a Class C South challenge on Saturday, May 6. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 4-0.
