Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Fort Hill Sentinels (Cumberland, MD), 13-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Miners now own a 2-9 record. They take the field next when they host Meyersdale for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. Mountain Ridge will battle a Red Raiders squad coming off a 16-1 league win over Rockwood (Rockwood, PA). The Red Raiders record now stands at 10-0.

With the loss, Fort Hill falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Sentinels travel to Bishop Walsh (Cumberland, MD) to battle the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 16-4. Bishop Walsh won 13-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Mercersburg Academy (Mercersburg, PA)
