Homestead Spartans (Fort Wayne, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Norwell Knights (Ossian, IN), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host Mississinewa for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. Homestead will battle a Indians squad coming off a 7-2 league loss to Eastbrook (Marion, IN). The Indians record now stands at 8-5.

With the loss, Norwell falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Heritage (Monroeville, IN) to battle the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Heritage lost 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Adams Central (Monroe, IN)
