The Mathews Mustangs routed the host Independence Blue Devils softball squad by a count of 11-4 in Friday's non-league battle.

The Mustangs (13-5) will now prepare for their battle against Pymatuning Valley (Andover, OH). The Lakers go into the Northeastern Athletic battle with a 15-4 record. In their last battle, Pymatuning Valley nudged Harding (Warren, OH), 13-3, in a non-league battle.

The Blue Devils now sport a 8-8 record. They play next when they travel to Geneva for a non-league battle on Monday, May 8. Independence will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Jefferson Area (Jefferson, OH). The Eagles record now stands at 8-11.
