The Rochester Rockets (Rochester, IL) softball nipped the host Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL), 1-0 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Rockets (14-11) will now prepare for their bout against Springfield (Springfield, IL). The Senators go into the Central State Eight bout with a 20-3 record. In their last bout, Springfield held off Pawnee (Pawnee, IL), 10-6, in a non-league bout.
The Railsplitters now possess a 15-14 record. They play next when they travel to Tri-Valley for a non-league bout on Monday, May 8. Lincoln will confront a Vikings squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Maroa-Forsyth (Maroa, IL). The Vikings record now stands at 15-6.
