The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Maynard Tigers (Maynard, MA) and the visiting St. Bernard's Central Catholic Bernardians (Fitchburg, MA), saw Maynard's softball squad nip St. Bernard's Central Catholic by a count of 6-4.
The Tigers now sport a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tahanto Regional for a Midland-Wachusett D match on Monday, May 8. Maynard will face a Stags squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Clinton (Clinton, MA). The Stags record now stands at 3-2.
With the loss, St. Bernard's Central Catholic falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Bernardians host Assabet Valley RVT (Marlborough, MA) to face the Aztecs in a non-league match on Monday, May 8. The Aztecs enter the match with a record of 1-5.
