The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY) and the host Middlesboro Yellowjackets (Middlesboro, KY), saw South Laurel's softball squad achieve victory over Middlesboro by a count of 8-0.

The Cardinals now sport a 13-7 record. They take the field next when they host Rockcastle County for a non-league match on Saturday, May 6. South Laurel will face a Rockets squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Mercer County (Harrodsburg, KY). The Rockets record now stands at 14-11.

With the loss, Middlesboro falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Bell County (Pineville, KY) to face the Bobcats in a District 52 match on Monday, May 8. The Bobcats enter the match with a record of 6-5.
