North Central Panthers (Indianapolis, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Speedway Sparkplugs (Speedway, IN), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Decatur Central for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. North Central will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 14-4 non-league win over Ben Davis (Indianapolis, IN). The Hawks record now stands at 10-10.

With the loss, Speedway falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Sparkplugs host Tri-West Hendricks (Lizton, IN) to battle the Bruins in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Bruins enter the challenge with a record of 15-4. Tri-West Hendricks won 22-0 in their recent league challenge against Frankfort (Frankfort, IN)
