The North Newton Spartans (Morocco, IN) baseball trounced the host Calumet Christian Patriots (Griffith, IN), 17-10 in Monday's non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 4-11 record. They take the field next when they host Faith Christian for a Midwest challenge on Tuesday, May 6. North Newton will clash with a Eagles team coming off a 13-3 league loss to Frontier (Chalmers, IN). The Eagles record now stands at 3-6.

With the defeat, Calumet Christian drops to 8-7 on the year. The Patriots travel to Thornton Fractional South (Lansing, IL) to clash with the Red Wolves in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 8. The Red Wolves go into the challenge with a record of 8-17. Thornton Fractional South won 13-0 in their recent league challenge against Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL)
