The Newton South Lions baseball team scored 6 runs and held the host Waltham Hawks to 2 in the Lions league win on Monday.

The Lions now hold a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they host Maimonides for a non-league test on Wednesday, May 7. Newton South will play a M-Cats team coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Nashoba Valley Tech (Westford, MA). The M-Cats record now stands at 2-3.

With the defeat, Waltham drops to 8-5 on the year. The Hawks travel to Lincoln-Sudbury (Sudbury, MA) to play the Warriors in a Dual County test on Wednesday, May 7. The Warriors go into the test with a record of 9-4. Lincoln-Sudbury lost 14-2 in their recent non-league test against Boston English (Boston, MA)
