The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Frontenac Raiders (Frontenac, KS) and the visiting Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO), observed Frontenac's softball team get by Mt. Vernon by a tally of 2-1.

The Raiders (3-0) will now prepare for their bout against Diamond (Diamond, MO). The Wildcats go into the non-league bout with a 22-4 record. In their last bout, Diamond tipped Liberal (Liberal, MO), 8-0, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Mountaineers battle the Skyline Tigers (Urbana, MO) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, May 6. Mt. Vernon will attempt to advance on its 26-9 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 29-1 record after their 15-0 non-league win over Pierce City (Pierce City, MO).
