The Marquette Sentinels softball squad (Marquette, MI), was edged 6-5 in Monday's non-league contest with the visiting Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI)

With the triumph, Negaunee improves its record to 2-6 on the year. The Miners host Calumet (Calumet, MI) to face the Copper Kings in a non-league contest on Tuesday, May 6. The Copper Kings enter the contest with a record of 6-3. Calumet won 10-9 in their recent league contest against Hancock (Hancock, MI)

The Sentinels now hold a 13-5 record. They play next when they host Gladstone for a Great Northern U.P. contest on Wednesday, May 7. Marquette will face a Braves squad coming off a 6-0 league win over Kingsford (Kingsford, MI). The Braves record now stands at 12-0.
