In Monday's non-league match, the host Pike Liberal Arts Patriots softball team scored a tight 8-4 victory over the Washington County Bulldogs.
The Patriots (17-12) will now prepare for their match against Cottonwood (Cottonwood, AL). The Bears go into the non-league match with a 7-15 record. In their last match, Cottonwood was routed by Geneva County (Hartford, AL), 7-2, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL) in a non-league match, on Monday, May 5. Washington County will attempt to better on its 15-19 season record. The Purple Cats go into the match with a 23-17 record after their 17-0 non-league win over Houston County (Columbia, AL).
