South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY) backers left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Pulaski County Maroons (Somerset, KY), 2-0 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, South Laurel upgrades its record to 19-4 on the year. The Cardinals host Whitley County (Williamsburg, KY) to play the Colonels in a District 50 game on Thursday, May 8. The Colonels enter the game with a record of 15-18. Whitley County won 15-4 in their recent non-league game against Barbourville (Barbourville, KY)

The Maroons now own a 10-15 record. They play next when they host Taylor County for a non-league game on Tuesday, May 6. Pulaski County will play a Cardinals squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over North Hardin (Radcliff, KY). The Cardinals record now stands at 20-5.
