In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Nonnewaug Chiefs softball team scored a tight 8-1 win over the Immaculate Mustangs.
The Chiefs (12-1) will now prepare for their match against Cheshire (Cheshire, CT). The Rams come into the non-league match with a 13-1 record. In their last match, Cheshire nipped Mercy (Middletown, CT), 5-0, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Mustangs confront the Harding Presidents (Bridgeport, CT) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, May 6. Immaculate will attempt to better on its 4-10 season record. The Presidents come into the match with a 2-9 record after their 18-3 non-league loss to Pomperaug (Southbury, CT).
