LA SALLE DROPS SECOND STRAIGHT
Saturday, May 6, 2023 – The La Salle Cardinals dropped their second straight game, 0-15 to St. John’s Prep, Saturday afternoon on Randall’s Island. And, for the second time in as many games the Cardinals had more errors than hits, as they committed seven errors and got no-hit by St. John’s starter JoseDavid Rodriguez. The loss drops La Salle’s record to 5-7 overall and 5-4 in the CHSAA Intersectional ‘A’ division heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
Cardinals’ starter, Anthony Gonzalez, gave La Salle a quality start going 5 1/3 inning before giving way to the bullpen, but he fell victim to a defense that has committed 15 errors over the last two games. Gonzalez final stat line 5 1/3 IP, 5H, 9R, 7ER, 5BB with 7Ks.
