In Saturday's non-league contest, the Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI) softball team the host Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI), by a margin of 8-6.

With the triumph, Chariho moves its record to 6-8 on the year. The Chargers travel to East Providence (East Providence, RI) to play the Townies in a Division 1B (State) contest on Monday, May 8. The Townies come into the contest with a record of 7-6. East Providence won 12-1 in their recent non-league contest against Scituate (North Scituate, RI)

In their next game, the Chieftains play the Mt. Hope Huskies (Bristol, RI) in a Division 2 contest, on Tuesday, May 9. Ponaganset will attempt to move on its 7-6 season record. The Huskies come into the contest with a 8-2 record after their 4-0 league win over Johnston (Johnston, RI).
