Minerva Lions (Minerva, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Beaver Beavers (Lisbon, OH), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 9-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dover for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 8. Minerva will face a Crimson Tornadoes squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Conotton Valley (Bowerston, OH). The Crimson Tornadoes record now stands at 21-3.

With the loss, Beaver falls to 14-8 on the campaign. The Beavers travel to United (Hanoverton, OH) to face the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 16-3. United won 10-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Carrollton (Carrollton, OH)
