Cherry Tigers (Iron, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kelley Mariners (Silver Bay, MN), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host Proctor for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 8. Cherry will battle a Rails squad coming off a 7-6 non-league loss to South Ridge (Culver, MN). The Rails record now stands at 13-3.

With the loss, Kelley falls to 10-2 on the campaign. The Mariners host Carlton (Carlton, MN) to battle the Bulldogs in a Polar challenge on Thursday, May 9. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
