The Normal University Pioneers softball team scored 17 runs and limited the host Lanphier Lions to 2 in the Pioneers league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Normal University improves its record to 21-7 on the year. The Pioneers host Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL) to clash with the Cyclones in a Central State Eight game on Tuesday, May 7. The Cyclones come into the game with a record of 11-8. Sacred Heart-Griffin won 16-1 in their recent league game against Lanphier (Springfield, IL)

In their next game, the Lions clash with the Springfield Southeast Spartans (Springfield, IL) in a Central State Eight game, on Thursday, May 9. Lanphier will attempt to improve on its 3-19 season record. The Spartans come into the game with a 0-12 record after their 24-1 league loss to Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL).
