Spectators at Monday's league match between the Sparta Trojans (Sparta, MO) and the host Marionville Comets (Marionville, MO), witnessed Sparta's softball squad prevail over Marionville by a count of 8-0.

The Trojans now sport a 24-8 record. They play next when they travel to Forsyth for a Class 2 District 5 match on Tuesday, May 7. Sparta will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 4-2 league win over Strafford (Strafford, MO). The Panthers record now stands at 16-16.

With the loss, Marionville moves to 17-9 on the season.
