Saranac Lake Red Storm (Saranac Lake, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Plattsburgh Hornets (Plattsburgh, NY), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Red Storm now own a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northern Adirondack for a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Friday, May 10. Saranac Lake will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to Beekmantown (Plattsburgh, NY). The Bobcats record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Plattsburgh falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Saranac (Saranac, NY) to battle the Spartans in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Saranac won 14-5 in their recent league challenge against AuSable Valley (Clintonville, NY)
