The Southern Indians (Salineville, OH) softball nipped the visiting Rittman Indians (Rittman, OH), 2-1 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Indians (9-7) will now prepare for their bout against East Canton (East Canton, OH). The Hornets go into the non-league bout with a 6-13 record. In their last bout, East Canton held off Tuscarawas Central Catholic (New Philadelphia, OH), 5-4, in a league challenge.

With the loss, Rittman falls to 7-15 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Smithville (Smithville, OH) to face the Smithies in a Wayne County challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Smithies enter the challenge with a record of 2-12. Smithville lost 16-2 in their recent league challenge against Waynedale (Apple Creek, OH)
