Hinsdale South Hornets (Darien, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Glenbard East Rams (Lombard, IL), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Proviso East for a West Suburban - Gold challenge on Monday, May 9. Hinsdale South will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 21-0 league loss to Downers Grove South (Downers Grove, IL). The Pirates record now stands at 1-8.

With the loss, Glenbard East falls to 8-14 on the campaign. The Rams travel to IC Catholic Prep (Elmhurst, IL) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 7. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 11-7. IC Catholic Prep won 11-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Payton College Prep (Chicago, IL)
