Vance County Vipers (Henderson, NC) fans were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Oxford Prep Griffins (Oxford, NC), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Griffins now have a 5-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roxboro Community for a Triangle North 1A challenge on Thursday, May 9. Oxford Prep will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 9-0 league win over Excelsior Classical Academy (Durham, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-4.
