Avon Eagles (Avon, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Brookside Cardinals (Sheffield, OH), 11-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 6-15 record.

With the loss, Brookside falls to 9-10 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Black River (Sullivan, OH) to battle the Pirates in a Lorain County 8 challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 3-5. Black River won 8-4 in their recent non-league challenge against New London (New London, OH)
