Grassfield Grizzlies (Chesapeake, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), 10-3 in a league challenge.

The Grizzlies now own a 15-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hickory for a Southeastern challenge on Thursday, May 9. Grassfield will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 14-1 league win over Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA). The Hawks record now stands at 15-1.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to King's Fork (Suffolk, VA) to battle the Bulldogs in a Southeastern challenge on Thursday, May 9. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. King's Fork won 31-13 in their recent non-league challenge against Booker T. Washington (Norfolk, VA)
