La Pine Hawks (La Pine, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lakeview Honkers (Lakeview, OR), 9-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 9-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Burns for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 9. La Pine will battle a Hilanders squad coming off a 9-0 league win over Nyssa (Nyssa, OR). The Hilanders record now stands at 13-2.

With the loss, Lakeview falls to 8-12 on the campaign. The Honkers travel to Sutherlin (Sutherlin, OR) to battle the Bulldogs in a 3A-SD3 Special District 3 challenge on Monday, May 13. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 4-15. Sutherlin lost 21-7 in their recent league challenge against Rogue River (Rogue River, OR)
