The Monticello Sages softball team scored 13 runs and limited the visiting Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs to 2 in the Sages non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Monticello improves its record to 17-12 on the year. The Sages host Mattoon (Mattoon, IL) to clash with the Greenwave in a non-league game on Wednesday, May 8. The Greenwave come into the game with a record of 9-12. Mattoon won 7-5 in their recent non-league game against Cumberland (Toledo, IL)

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons (Gibson City, IL) in a non-league game, on Thursday, May 9. Mahomet-Seymour will attempt to improve on its 5-18 season record. The Falcons come into the game with a 11-9 record after their 7-1 league loss to Tri-Valley (Downs, IL).
