Normal Community Ironmen (Normal, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Peoria Lions (Peoria, IL), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Ironmen now own a 11-18 record. They take the field next when they host Olympia for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 8. Normal Community will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Auburn (Auburn, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 24-1.

With the loss, Peoria falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Bloomington (Bloomington, IL) to battle the Purple Raiders in a Big Twelve challenge on Thursday, May 9. The Purple Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 6-10. Bloomington lost 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Normal University (Normal, IL)
