The Marion Wildcats baseball team scored 16 runs and held the host Benton Rangers to 4 in the Wildcats non-league win on Wednesday.

The Wildcats now hold a 16-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carbondale for a South Seven test on Thursday, May 8. Marion will play a Terriers team coming off a 7-2 league loss to Marion (Marion, IL). The Terriers record now stands at 10-8.

With the defeat, Benton drops to 7-18 on the year. The Rangers travel to Carterville (Carterville, IL) to play the Lions in a non-league test on Friday, May 9. The Lions go into the test with a record of 15-9. Carterville won 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Trico (Campbell Hill, IL)
