The Marquette Catholic Blazers baseball team scored 18 runs and held the host Gary West Side Cougars to 1 in the Blazers non-league win on Wednesday.

The Blazers now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tri-Township for a non-league test on Thursday, May 8. Marquette Catholic will clash with a Tigers team coming off a 11-4 league loss to Morgan Township (Valparaiso, IN). The Tigers record now stands at 4-8.

With the defeat, Gary West Side drops to 1-8 on the year. The Cougars travel to Hammond Baptist (Schererville, IN) to clash with the Swordsmen in a non-league test on Thursday, May 8. The Swordsmen go into the test with a record of 3-1. Hammond Baptist won 13-2 in their recent non-league test against Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL)
