In Wednesday's non-league test, the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers (Houston, PA) softball squad got by the visiting Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA), by a count of 2-1.

The Scotties (16-2) will now prepare for their test against New Castle (New Castle, PA). The Hurricanes go into the non-league test with a 9-10 record. In their last test, New Castle held off Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA), 8-6, in a non-league test.
