The Homewood Patriots softball team scored 19 runs and held the visiting Clay-Chalkville Cougars to 0 in the Patriots non-league win on Wednesday.
The Patriots now possess a 20-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oxford for a non-league battle on Wednesday, May 7. Homewood will confront a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Pell City (Pell City, AL). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 16-16.
With the loss, Clay-Chalkville moves to 18-10 on the season. The Cougars travel to Mountain Brook (Birmingham, AL) to confront the Spartans in a non-league battle on Wednesday, May 7. The Spartans come into the battle with a record of 15-30. Mountain Brook won 15-0 in their recent non-league battle against Woodlawn (Birmingham, AL)
