California High School Softball - Point Loma nudges Bayfront Charter

May 8, 2023: San Diego, CA 92106

Point Loma Pointers (San Diego, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bayfront Charter Sharks (Chula Vista, CA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Pointers now own a 13-12 record. They take the field next when they host High Tech SD for a City challenge on Wednesday, May 10. Point Loma will battle a Storm squad coming off a 7-0 league loss to La Jolla (La Jolla, CA). The Storm record now stands at 1-8.

With the loss, Bayfront Charter falls to 15-5 on the campaign. The Sharks travel to Mountain Empire (Pine Valley, CA) to battle the Redhawks in a Summit challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Redhawks enter the challenge with a record of 1-7. Mountain Empire lost 22-1 in their recent league challenge against Liberty Charter (Lemon Grove, CA)
