In Monday's non-league contest, the Lincoln-Way Central Knights (New Lenox, IL) softball team the visiting Lake Central Indians (St. John, IN), by a count of 4-1.

The Knights now sport a 19-4 record. They take the field next when they host Bradley-Bourbonnais for a SouthWest Suburban match on Tuesday, May 9. Lincoln-Way Central will face a Boilermakers squad coming off a 8-1 league win over Lincoln-Way West (New Lenox, IL). The Boilermakers record now stands at 17-4.

With the loss, Lake Central falls to 18-3 on the campaign. The Indians host Merrillville (Merrillville, IN) to face the Pirates in a Duneland match on Tuesday, May 9. The Pirates enter the match with a record of 1-16. Merrillville won 8-4 in their recent non-league match against River Forest (Hobart, IN)
