Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL), 12-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 20-5 record. They take the field next when they host Normal Community for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 10. Olympia will battle a Ironmen squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Peoria (Peoria, IL). The Ironmen record now stands at 13-13.

With the loss, Monticello falls to 10-13 on the campaign. The Sages travel to Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 9-15. Mahomet-Seymour lost 8-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Heyworth (Heyworth, IL)
