Valhalla Norsemen (El Cajon, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host University City Centurions (San Diego, CA), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Norsemen now own a 15-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to El Cajon Valley for a Grossmont Valley challenge on Wednesday, May 10. Valhalla will battle a Braves squad coming off a 20-10 non-league win over Lincoln (San Diego, CA). The Braves record now stands at 5-13.

With the loss, University City falls to 4-20 on the campaign. The Centurions host Mission Bay (San Diego, CA) to battle the Buccaneers in a City Western challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Buccaneers enter the challenge with a record of 1-16. Mission Bay lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Scripps Ranch (San Diego, CA)
