Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes (Abingdon, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Farmington Farmers (Farmington, IL), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Tornadoes now own a 18-10 record. They take the field next when they host Princeville for a Lincoln Trail challenge on Thursday, May 9. Abingdon/Avon will battle a Princes squad coming off a 9-6 league loss to Abingdon/Avon (Abingdon, IL). The Princes record now stands at 10-13.

With the loss, Farmington falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Farmers host Knoxville (Knoxville, IL) to battle the Blue Bullets in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 10. The Blue Bullets enter the challenge with a record of 22-3. Knoxville won 10-2 in their recent league challenge against Galva (Galva, IL)
