Elverado Falcons (Elkville, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Cobden Appleknockers (Cobden, IL), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Falcons now own a 18-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Benton for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 10. Elverado will battle a Rangers squad coming off a 12-4 non-league win over Goreville (Goreville, IL). The Rangers record now stands at 7-20.

With the loss, Cobden falls to 2-11 on the campaign.
