The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL) and the visiting Metamora Redbirds (Metamora, IL), saw Mt. Zion's softball squad nip Metamora by a count of 13-9.

The Braves now sport a 22-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Meridian for a non-league match on Friday, May 10. Mt. Zion will face a Hawks squad coming off a 7-1 non-league win over Nokomis (Nokomis, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 23-6.

With the loss, Metamora falls to 23-5 on the campaign. The Redbirds travel to Limestone (Bartonville, IL) to face the Rockets in a Mid-Illini match on Thursday, May 9. The Rockets enter the match with a record of 8-8.
