Newington Nor'easters (Newington, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting New Britain Golden Hurricanes (New Britain, CT), 16-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Nor'easters now own a 6-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Berlin for a Central Connecticut - North challenge on Thursday, May 9. Newington will face a Redcoats squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Middletown (Middletown, CT). The Redcoats record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, New Britain falls to 3-13 on the campaign. The Golden hurricanes travel to Bristol Eastern (Bristol, CT) to face the Lancers in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 10. The Lancers enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Bristol Eastern lost 7-5 in their recent league challenge against Lewis Mills (Burlington, CT)
